Correction Policy

Our Commitment to Accuracy

Cyber Play is committed to publishing correct, verified and up-to-date information. However, errors can happen — we’re human. When they do, we have an obligation to correct them transparently and quickly.

This policy describes how to report errors, how we handle corrections and our continuous verification process.

1. How to Report an Error

By email

Send to biancafajcastro@gmail.com with subject “CORRECTION — [article link]”.

Useful information

To speed up analysis, include:

  • Link to the article in question
  • Specific excerpt containing the error
  • Description of the problem (what’s wrong)
  • Source of correct information (if possible — link, official document, etc.)
  • Your name and contact for public acknowledgment (optional)

2. Error Classification

🔴 Substantial Errors

Significantly alter the reader’s understanding. Examples:

  • Incorrect dates, values, rates or deadlines
  • Wrong attribution of quotes
  • Incorrect names of people or institutions
  • Wrong historical facts
  • Inaccurate statistical data

Action: immediate correction + public erratum note at the end of the article, with date and description of the change.

🟡 Minor Errors

Don’t change the main meaning. Examples:

  • Spelling or grammar errors
  • Typos
  • Broken links
  • Images with wrong caption

Action: silent correction. If the error was reported by reader, we respond personally thanking them.

🟢 Updates

Changes due to passage of time, not initial error. Examples:

  • Bank interest rate changed
  • Announcement updated registration date
  • Law was changed

Action: text update + change of “last updated” date in the article. When the change is significant, we add a note at the beginning.

3. Response Time

  • Receipt confirmation: up to 2 business days
  • Analysis and decision: up to 5 business days (complex cases may take longer, and we advise on this)
  • Critical corrections (legal, reputational risk or medical/financial information that can cause harm): 24 hours

4. Transparency

For substantial errors, we add visible erratum note at the end of the article:

ERRATUM (18/04/2026): In a previous version of this article, we incorrectly stated that [X]. The correct information is [Y]. Thanks to reader [Name] for identifying this. We apologize for the error.

5. Right of Reply

If you are mentioned in a Cyber Play article and consider the information inaccurate or offensive, send a formal request to biancafajcastro@gmail.com. We evaluate and, when pertinent:

  • Publish your version of the facts as an update note
  • Correct the article if we confirm the mistake
  • In more serious cases, publish independent text with right of reply

6. Content Removal

Exceptionally, we remove content when:

  • Clear copyright violation (see also DMCA)
  • Court decision requiring removal
  • Originally incorrect information with no possible correction
  • Serious risk to security or privacy of identifiable people

When possible, we prefer to correct rather than remove, keeping the historical record transparent.

7. Periodic Review

Regardless of external reports, we do periodic reviews of:

  • Popular articles (top 100 most read) — semiannual review
  • YMYL topic articles (finance, health, legal) — quarterly review
  • Dated event articles (elections, exams) — review according to event schedule

8. Continuous Learning

Every reported error is analyzed by the editorial team to identify patterns and improve our processes. We don’t punish authors for good-faith errors — we use them as learning opportunities.
